ABOUT Creativ Endevours

So first, let’s start with how I came up with the name.

Well being arty and dyslexic, I naturally decided that some of the letters were not necessary. So goodbye ‘e’ and goodbye ‘a’ and a phonetic version of the words ‘creative endeavours’ was born. (Also, I found as a happy byproduct, it is much easier to get all of the usernames that you would like if you spell words incorrectly!)

INTRO TO ME

My name is Samantha Lyndsay Naidu, and I live with my family in a small village, that is part of a tiny city called Ely in Cambridgeshire, England and it is famous for its very impressive Cathedral. By day I am a swim teacher and thoroughly enjoy this rewarding job but tactile creativity is always there in my mind.

I have a fine art degree from Nottingham Trent University and in my spare time I mainly enjoy painting cute animals, that tend to be quite fluffy.

My degree and prior art education gave me the freedom to explore and try out many different mediums, including - screen printing, mark making, textiles, etching, oils & acrylics, to name a few, but my favourite has to be watercolour.

MY STYLE

When I was younger and studying art, we were always told -

‘reference which artist inspired you for this piece’

‘what style are you using’

‘always explain your work’

For me as a fully grown adult, now with years of life experience, I have come to realise that my current style tends to reflect the hundreds of things that my mind has taken in over time. Whether that be in books, museums, galleries, nature, online, tv, film and of course my family.

My work just comes out, however it comes out, depending on my mood at the time and when I can finally decide it’s done.

Sometimes that could be super detailed using mixed media or it might be flowing and more expressive. I mostly paint with watercolours and I paint what makes me happy. I like what I like and I hope you enjoy it too!

If you like my style and you’re looking for something more personalised, feel free to enquire about commissioned artwork. Each piece of original art purchased will come with a certificate of authenticity.

Lastly, just in case you haven’t made the connection yet, most of my artwork is signed with my first initial and my middle name, S.Lyndsay and some of my early work… if you are ever lucky enough to see it, is signed with my childhood nickname Mamfa.
